Carmen Eksteen Patisseries is a home-based online bakery in Stellenbosch, built around slow methods and a heavy hand with vanilla bean Swiss meringue buttercream. Every cake, cupcake and cookie is made to order — no shortcuts, no shelf mixes, just proper ganache, real fruit compote and a lot of patience with a piping bag.
Custom cakes are built entirely around your palette, your flavours and your occasion, from an intimate 10cm cake for two to a 22cm centrepiece for a crowd.

The Buttercream Canvas Experience
An edible, hand-painted flower canvas for your dessert table — guests dip their own cupcake or slice of cake straight into it and decorate their own piece on the spot. Part centerpiece, part activity, all delicious.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I order?
We ask for at least 5 days' notice on most orders. Large or custom cakes, and especially wedding cakes, need more lead time — the earlier you get in touch, the more flexible we can be with dates and designs.
Do you deliver, and how much does it cost?
There's no delivery fee within Stellenbosch. Delivery outside the area is charged extra depending on distance — just let us know your location when you order and we'll confirm the cost.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Some items are already gluten-free or vegan — look for the GF and Vegan badges on the menu. All GF items are made with gluten-free ingredients, and we take care to avoid cross-contamination, but because everything is baked in a home kitchen that also handles wheat, we can't guarantee a completely gluten-free environment. If you have a severe allergy or coeliac disease, please let us know so we can talk through the risks. For any other dietary requirement not covered here, email us and we'll let you know what's possible.
Is there a minimum order?
Most items have their own minimum order quantity, shown on each menu card (for example, cupcakes are a minimum of 12, cookies a minimum of 5). Custom cakes are made per cake, not per portion.
Can I request a specific colour palette or flavour combination?
Yes — custom cakes and cupcakes are built entirely around your palette and your choice of sponge and filling. Check the flavour guide on the menu, or just tell us what you're picturing.
Do you make wedding cakes?
We do — every wedding cake is quoted individually. Email us your wedding date, venue, guest count, and any photos of styles you love, and we'll come back to you with pricing and design options. We also offer a Wedding Cake Tasting Box if you'd like to try flavours first.
How do payment and confirming my order work?
Once you've sent through your order details (via the form below, WhatsApp, or email), we'll confirm availability, final pricing, and next steps directly with you.
